Time for truth.....


Every new year brings in the joy and the sorrows of the Independence day. When the whole world or rather the whole nation of India is celebrating the arrival of its freedom from The British Empire, what are we as citizens doing?
There is a ready reply ready for every single independence day. Sending my son or daughter to school for the function or me myself going for speech. If not all this, then singing a patriotic song, saluting the flag, But other than all this what is there in an Independence day after all? There is much much more. Independence is the freedom from struggle, freedom from bondage and today's world gained worldly freedom and lost another one. The lost one is of the soul. Maybe all of us today don't believe in the spiritual or the other worldly or maybe even in the supreme  power. After all, we have been brought up in the era where technology changes every 14 months (now maybe even 14 seconds). Science is God and only things that can be seen to the eye are considered to be the truth. 
But isn't it live irony to say that miracles keep happening all the time around us. Some unexplainable things that even science says 'wow' to. independence, in our minute definition is all the fundamental freedom that has been mentioned in the Constitutions and the other legal books, but is that all? Freedom is that thing that gives us space, time and thinking that lets us grow towards satisfaction and well being. Yes, with science we have gained but what about the mental and emotional well being? Are we really happy with all this wealth that we get from the jobs? Where are the smiling, understanding and adjusting spouses? Where are the dedicated and loyal children to their parents? Where are the healthy lives? To all these questions, we have lost answers with our freedom. 
Every emotion is played with and every action misinterpreted for various reasons. Where are we going with this independence? Are we digging our own graves? We get happy when someone else falls, is this true independence and true satisfaction? All this is so confusing, isn't it? But the bare truth is that we sold our souls for petty development. Here, the British came out victorious. It is an open secret that they targeted our culture in order to eradicate our strength, our unity and to this day we have showed them that they were almost eternally successful. The culture through spirituality and religion, trained and imbibed every successive generation with the values of humanity, humility, courage by protecting the weak and strength from goodness. That is what true freedom means and will mean to the world peace and satisfaction.
So, its time now to put on our thinking caps and see the 20, 30, 50 or 80 years that we have spent in this land. Think again and again on what has happened and what can be done to get our real independence from loss of bondage, through peace and satisfaction, through giving happiness to all around us. This independence day should be a day of penance and self introspection for the best future for the country. Lets think today and act it out from tomorrow. And the next Independence day will be waiting with smiles and happy news for all of us.

Holidays, festivals, fun and frolic. All these come together for a child twice, thrice a year and where is a better place to celebrate it other than 'ajja mane' or 'grandfather's home'? The Women of Dakar - 2021

It has been almost a month since the Dakar Rally of 2021 began and a fortnight since it ended. The truth is that I miss it already. The excitement, the nail biting moments and the solidarity of the enduro sports and more. Hence, this is my attempt to shine a little light into the world's toughest rally till date. The Dakar Rally has been fascinating me for nearly a decade now. The fascination was pure simple - the relationship between the ride and rider was the sole focus in this endurance masterpiece of the rally world. In the recent years, my interest has been piqued by the home grown talent that has entered the gruelling race. From Aravind KP in the Sherco Racing company and CS Santosh sponsored by the Hero MotoCorp teams, Indians are entering the race one by one. The Golden Heart Forever

My Ajja and Myself Sometimes we never realize what awakens memories, what can trigger things in your heart and what can make tears roll down your eyes. What happened to me can be explained with these sentences. Life rolls on always and as everyone knows people live and die. But no matter what we do and even try to do, nothing prepares us when we actually face such a situation. That loss is always a loss and no one else will take up that void.   Ajja was that to me. Even today, a mango, a Mitsubishi Lancer, a sprinkler, a jackfruit, a calm evening or even the tune of the morning news in BBC channel can wake the past and before I know it, my dam’s burst of my eyes.  Life is equally funny too.
